City website gets face lift, redesign

The City of Fulton website received a new look in the new year.

The city’s website, fultonmo.org, last received major updates around 2011 and has been running on out-of-date software over recent years.

“We took updating the software as an opportunity to redesign the website,” said Public Information Officer Michael Shine. “In doing that, I focused on the user experience. What information do our citizens look for, is it accessible, and is it understandable?”

The bulk of the redesign focused on highlighting the city’s services, departments, divisions, and staff. It also leaves room for regular blog posts spotlighting city events, programs, employees, and news.

“I’m certain we’ll be making changes and adjustments to it for a while, but this is a major step in modernizing how we communicate with our community,” Shine said.
