Council approves golf course, utilities update

In recent meetings, the City Council voted to update Tanglewood Golf Course prices and utility gas rates to keep up with increasing costs.

The Parks Board and City Council approved a slight increase to Tanglewood rates. For instance, weekend greens fee and cart rental for 9 holes increased from $35 to $37, and 18 holes increased from $45 to $49.

A full list of Tanglewood rates can be found on the Parks and Recreation page. The comparison is available here.

The Council also approved an increase to the base gas rate from $6 to $15 — the usage rate stayed the same. Also going into effect is a 2019 scheduled increase to the electric rate, which changes the residential base fee from $13 to $14. Changes are also reflected in the killawatt per hour rate with 0-500 kwhr going from 0.091 to 0.092 and the over 1000 kwhr rate going from 0.098 to 0.100. This is the fifth and final year for a scheduled increase.
