Fulton Pride Day was initiated in 2001 by former mayor Robert Craghead in order to make the city look nicer and create a healthier environment. Since the first year, participation has more than tripled as more than 550 people roamed Fulton streets and parks to look for trash in 2010. Among those who lend a helping hand include between 40 and 50 church groups, scout groups, and civic organizations.

First held in 1899 and reestablished in 2004, the Fulton Street Fair is a celebration truly unique to Fulton. Hit the bricks and check out the numerous booths with local fare and merchandise, listen to music from several area bands throughtout the day, or buy a mule at the mule auction next to the Callaway County Courthouse, just like it was done more than one hundred years ago. There’s even a crawdad eating contest and a mule derby which is a must-see event and is nothing like one would imagine.

There is only one Kingdom in the State of Missouri and that title belongs to Callaway County. And what better way to celebrate all that makes the Kingdom special than by making a trip to the annual Callaway County Fair. Whether its the tractor pull, ATV rodeo, goat and sheep show, or amusement rides, there is something that will interest everyone.


Tanglewood PGA Pro-Am

One of the premiere golf tournaments in Mid-Missouri is the Tanglewood PGA Pro-Am. The idea of Al Chandler, who played in 27 major golf events as a professional, the event features the top pro golfers from the Lake Chapter of the Gateway PGA. Each pro is paired with three amateurs of various skill levels and a scratch amateur, with the lowest scoring teams winning major prizes. Also included in the tournament is a silent auction featuring signed items from sports celebrities such as NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, NFL wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, and former Mizzou basketball coach Norm Stewart. Proceeds from the auction goes to SERVE, Inc., a non-profit, social services organization based in Fulton.

Enjoy the holiday season by picking the perfect spot in downtown Fulton to catch the Fulton Jaycees Christmas Parade. An annual tradition for decades, the parade features high school marching bands, floats made by various civic organizations, classic cars, and even a few fire trucks. And of course no Christmas Parade can be complete without a visit from Santa Claus.
