The Auto World Museum takes visitors on a ride through more than 100 years of automobile history. All will be in awe of the collection of 85 vehicles, including a rare 1895 Haynes, which are parked in front of historic Fulton streetscapes. Opened in 1996, the museum was the vision of local businessman William E. Backer, who was an avid collector of automobiles. The museum is open from April 1 through December 31.

In 1875, former president of the Confederacy Jefferson Davis spoke in Fulton. About 10,000 people showed up for his speech at the old fairgrounds (now Priest Field at Westminster College). During the Civil War, Callway County had many residents who were sympathetic to the southern cause. In 2010, as part of the Gray Ghost Trail, a panel was dedicated in Hockaday Park to commemorate the event. It currently overlooks the historic Hockaday House where Davis stayed while in Fulton.

National Churchill Museum

In 1946, British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill visited Fulton to give a speech discussing the state of the world following World War II. The Sinews of Peace speech would become one of Churchill’s most famous as he described the ideological and physical boundary between eastern and western Europe as an “iron curtain.” In 1969, the Churchill Memorial opened on the Westminster College campus. The main feature of the memorial is St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury chuch which was moved from London to Fulton. The church was designed by Christopher Wren in 1677. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, effectively signaling the end of the “iron curtain”, eight sections of the wall was donated by Churchill’s daughter in 1990.

Tanglewood Public Golf Course is Central Missouri’s premiere public golf facility. Along with 18 magnificent holes, including zoysia tees and fairways, everything a golfer needs can be found here – fully stocked pro shop, bar and grill, and practice facility. The course also hosts many tournaments througout the year, including the Tanglewood PGA Pro-Am, featuring the best pro golfers in Missouri.
