New Pipe To Help With Neighborhood Drainage

The combination of terrain and residential and commercial developments can create unique drainage problems. To help alleviate issues near Second Street and State Street, City contractors are currently installing a new drainage pipe.

Beginning at the northeast corner of Second and State, the pipe travels west towards Oak Street before crossing under Second and ending at the Stinson Creek. The pipe will mostly handle stormwater runoff from Fulton State Hospital and Missouri School for the Deaf.

Motorists can expect some traffic delays and closures on Second Street. The project is expected to complete in late February.
