Groundbreaking for New Fulton Animal Shelter Set
The City of Fulton will be holding groundbreaking ceremonies for its new animal shelter on Monday, March 24. The event will begin at 11 a.m. at the animal shelter’s new site on Industrial Drive between Business 54 and Westminster Avenue.
Mayor LeRoy Benton will be on hand as well as Animal Control Supervisor Tina Barnes and members of the Fulton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Nearly $230,000 of the approximately $300,000 cost to construct the animal shelter has been raised through private donations. The City will finance the remaining costs. Inside the shelter there will be twice the space of the current Garrett Animal Shelter and will include an examination room, separate quarantine areas and a lobby for visitors.
