Beginning in 2012, Smart Grid technology, also known as the Advance Metering Initiative, will be used to measure the consumption of electric, gas, and water by Fulton residences and businesses. As the cost of energy continues to increase, the Smart Grid will help promote efficiency, streamline power delivery and control costs. It will also give customers updated statistics concerning their utility usage. This allows them to create a strategy to help reduce their monthly costs.
