The Disc Golf Course in Veterans Park features 18 baskets, plus one additional practice basket, spread throughout the park. The construction of the course was funded with donations from groups and individuals and contributions from the City of Fulton. The course features top of the line disc golf baskets, concrete tee pads, and easy to read tee signs. Designed to utilize areas of Veteran’s Park that are not heavily used by park visitors, the course layout consists of wide open holes that feature a variety of obstacles to throw around or over, such as trees, lakes or creeks. The course also features nine holes with alternate basket settings so the layout of the course can be changed slightly to create a new set of challenges. Beginners to experienced players will find the course to be challenging, but rewarding.
The course is heavily played by local disc golfers, as well as many out-of-town players. Many of the disc golf clubs around mid-Missouri have traveled to Fulton to play the course and have nothing but good things to say about the course. Fulton’s local disc golf club is in the process of organizing a weekly league and information on that should be available soon. In addition, be on the lookout for upcoming Disc Golf tournaments. Most tournaments consist of separate divisions for recreational and professional players. If organized play is not taking place, bring your family or friends out and spend a few hours playing the 18-hole course. It is great exercise and you are assured to have a great experience.
