Yard Waste

Residential Yard Waste Collection

Yard waste is defined as leaves, grass, clippings or brush less than two feet in diameter and other yard vegetation.  Missouri state law bans yard waste from burial in a landfill and so it may not be mixed with trash.

Placing yard waste at the curb:
– Yard waste must be placed into paper bags or tied in bundles.
– Paper yard waste bags may be purchased from private retail stores (the City of Fulton no longer sells paper yard waste bags).
– Plastic bags will not be accepted.
– Bags must not contain anything but yard waste!
– Tree limbs and trimming not wider that two feet in diameter must be bundled and tied with twine no larger than 18 inches in diameter, less than 50 pounds per bundle and not more than four feet long.
– Bags and bundles must be placed between curb and sidewalk, or as close as possible on streets without a curb.  They can be right next to your recyclables, but please leave three feet between your yard waste and your 90-gallon trash cart.
– Whole trees will not be accepted and uncut branches.
– Roots and root ball of brush and trees are not considered yard waste and may be brought to the landfill.
– Have bags and bundles on the curb by 6 a.m. on your trash day.
