This position is responsible for procuring materials for various city departments, tracking inventory levels and assisting with warehouse duties.   • Assistant Parks and Recreation Director

    The City of Fulton Parks and Recreation Department is in need of an energetic individual with proven success in creating and implementing innovative program ideas for the community. This dynamic individual will be responsible for assessing past Parks and Recreation offerings and re-presenting those that have proven successful in the past. The City of Fulton is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation. This position within the Parks and Recreation Department will assist with the day to day functions of the Department, but will be primarily responsible for planning, developing, promoting, implementing and supervising a variety of recreational programs and special events as well as the hiring and supervision of instructors and part-time recreational staff. Additional responsibilities include the administration of the City’s outdoor pool and aquatic programs to include the hiring & training of lifeguards and pool staff, financial accounting and direct supervision of pool manager, as well as overseeing the programming activities of a new indoor recreation center. Ideal candidate will be highly energetic, possess a positive attitude, be proficient in communicating with the public, be highly organized, have the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and be able to provide a high level of customer service. Employee is expected to carry out assigned duties independently within the framework of established departmental policies and under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director. Occasional night and weekend hours are required. Knowledge of and demonstrated technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Outlook is required. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management or related field, plus 2 years of progressively responsible professional and supervisory experience in a Parks and Recreation or University Recreation setting as well as current First Aid/CPR certification is required. One year of aquatic experience and/or relevant, aquatic certifications (American Red Cross Instructor, AFO, CPO) are preferred. Position will remain open until filled.

    The City of Fulton is accepting resumes/applications for a full-time Public Information Officer. This position is responsible for performing public, organizational, and media relations in support of city programs, services, communications and media projects; branding and marketing; and establishing and maintaining an effective communication program to build and promote the City’s image. This position is integral as it will compile information on citizen efforts; maintain positive relations with the business community and the media; and assist with employee communication programs. Duties include, but are not limited to: implementing city and public communication programs, overseeing the livestreaming for the City Council meetings and handling the City’s media and public relations needs. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public administration. Minimum qualifications: HS/GED combined with five + years applicable experience in public relations required. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the English language, grammar, and the ability to communicate concisely, plus have experience in public communications, web and internet communications. Must have the ability to interact with a variety of personalities in a positive and professional manner. Must be able to speak in front of groups of people, cameras, and microphones. Knowledge of website maintenance, video production/editing, and social media communications is preferred.   • Engineering Tech III/Project Engineer

    The City of Fulton is accepting resumes/applications for a full-time Engineering Technician or Project Manager to join the Engineering department. Duties include: planning, surveying, designing, specifying, estimating, inspecting, and managing in-house, contracted, and privately proposed improvement projects. Projects are varied and include streets, sidewalks, storm sewers, city utilities, buildings, airport, and other public improvements. Candidates must be able to solve problems encountered in the construction phase by prompt coordination while documenting solutions. Other duties include GIS and GPS mapping, communicating with the public, and insuring the City and outside engineers, architects, developers, and contractors conform with federal, state, and municipal codes, regulations, and good engineering practices. Sound independent judgment and initiative are essential. Engineering, Land Surveying, or Construction Management experience/education preferred along with competency in CAD, Excel, and Word. Title and Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000/year depending on qualifications, with an increase after successful completion of a six-month probationary period.     Positions of interest but are not limited to; spin instructor, body combat, crossfit, martial arts, tai chi, HIT, boot camp, body attack, pilates, senior fitness, circuit training, personal training, etc. Ideal candidate will be highly energetic, possess a positive attitude, charismatic, organized, self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Experience in the fitness industry and general knowledge of fitness is required; preferred nationally accredited group fitness certification. Instructor is expected to carry out assigned duties independently within the framework of established departmental policies and under the general supervision of the Facility Manager. This position will instruct classes offered between the hours of 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and Sat/Sun 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Position(s) will remain open until filled.

    (1-2 Positions) Tanglewood Golf Course is seeking applicants for Cart Attendant. This seasonal, part time position will assist in general maintenance of the facility & the handling of golf carts. Must be able to work morning shifts 6:00 am –7:30 am and/or evening shifts 4:00 pm –Close. Some weekend work will be required. Must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license.
