Duties include, but are not limited to: planning, implementing and supervising a variety of recreational programs and special events, hiring and supervision of part-time recreational staff, facility budget management, marketing and promotions of facility and activities, routine facility maintenance, and policy development and implementation.

Experience in recreation facility management and general knowledge of recreational programming is required. It is essential to this position to be regularly available during standard business hours as well as night, weekend and holiday hours to meet with staff, facility users and vendors and be present for routine and special events. Knowledge of and demonstrated technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook and Social Media is required. Experience with facility management software is preferred.
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks & Recreation, Hospitality/Tourism, Sports/Athletic Management, Business Management or related field, plus 1-2 years of progressively responsible professional and supervisory experience in a Parks and Recreation or University Recreation setting as well as current First Aid/CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment. Program Supervisor is responsible for daily oversight of the Legends After School Program and will be responsible for supervising 20 or more elementary age children; and planning and implementing a variety of recreational, academic, physical, cultural and social enrichment opportunities and activities in a fun and safe environment.
The Program Supervisor is responsible for the safety of all participants and will provide proper behavioral guidance/discipline if needed. Program Supervisor will also oversee and be assisted by 1-4 Program Attendants during the program hours, as well as manage the check-in/check-out procedures, Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective leadership and management skills; organization and multi-tasking skills are preferred. Experience managing youth programs, after school programs or teaching is preferred. CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
Program Attendants will assist the Supervisor by providing supervision and instruction to the participants ensuring for the safety of all participants. Attendants will work directly with an assigned group of approximately 10-40 elementary age participants, to provide a safe, responsible, well-supervised afterschool program while acting as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor. Attendants must be 16 years of age and possess a valid drivers license. CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
