City Hosts Public Power Appreciation Day on October 7

The City of Fulton, as well as more than 2,000 other community-owned utilities across the United States will be celebrating Public Power Week from October 4 through October 10.  Public Power Week celebrates the reliable, affordable electricity the City of Fulton provides to the community.

On Wednesday, October 7, the City will host Public Power Appreciation Day at Tanglewood Golf Course. It will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Residents can see the City’s utility bucket truck, enjoy popcorn, see a demonstration on how electricity works and have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Tanglewood Pro Shop.

In 2013, the City of Fulton Utilities Department received the prestigious Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) designation.  The program recognizes utilities that demonstrate high proficiency in reliability, safety, work force development and system improvement.
