Do you offer automatic withdrawal from my checking or savings account?

Yes we do. Simply fill out the automatic withdrawal form and return it to City Hall.


Do I have to be present for my utilities to be turned on?

Only if the gas has been turned off.


If I co-sign for a person who is signing up for utilities, does that mean that I’m responsible if they don’t pay?

Yes you are.


Can you tell me the amount of my next bill?

If your meter has already been read this month we can tell you the amount.


Can I get the ‘high and low’ for a house that I’m considering buying or renting?

If you know the address we can look up that information.


I plan on renting a house. Can you tell me what the deposit will be?

The maximum deposit for a rental property is $200.00. In addition a $17 trash fee is collected in advance.


When and how can I get my deposit back?

After two years of active service with no late payments or returned checks you may receive a refund of the deposit upon request. The refund can either be applied or issued as a check. If you sign out of an account the deposit will be applied to your final bill.


What is a credit letter?

A credit letter is a letter from your previous utility provider saying that you have had no late payments for a period of twelve consecutive months within the past two years.


Do I have to pay a deposit? Is there any way to avoid having to pay one?

Deposits are required unless you provide a credit letter from your present utility company.
